The Sustainable Sandhills Made from Scratch program is designed to educate at-risk and low-income/low-access women in Moore County, North Carolina about urban homesteading or heirloom skills such as gardening and sewing and to encourage them to translate those skills into small businesses that provide income for their families and to serve as ambassadors for sustainability in their communities.
